BS-16 Universal Surface Scanner

On offer: BS-16 PCIe
 Coming soon: BS-17 USB3

Universal surface scanner is used to capture images of all types of ballistic objects: bullets, cartridge cases, as well as shots and fragmented specimens.

It is used to input images of objects into ARSENAL ABIS. It can also be used for trace examination and scanning of any cylindrical surfaces up to 22 mm in diameter.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

OPTIMAL APPLICATION

Creation of exact digital copies of surfaces for all types of objects in ARSENAL ABIS:

  • bullets and cartridge cases for rifled and smoothbore weapons
  • pellets
  • grapeshots
  • deformed and fragmented projectiles with surface deformation up to 7 mm

A distinctive feature of BS-16, in comparison with its counterparts made by other manufacturers, is its universality – images of all types of objects are captured with one device.

BS-16 universal surface scanner allows you to acquire images of all types of ballistic objects: bullets, cartridge cases, shots and fragmented specimens. One workstation equipped with BS-16 scanner can input object images in any sequence.

The scanner is easy to use, and can be operated by an employee with no special training or expert qualification.

BS-16 can be used to scan the surfaces of non-ballistic objects bearing, for example, evidences of break-in tools or fingerprints. Diameters of cylindrical objects that can be scanned range from 1 to 22 mm.

The scanner works equally well with objects made of various materials (metal, plastic, glass, etc.). The device automatically selects the lighting parameters according to the object’s reflecting and diffusing properties.

KEY BENEFITS

  • Versatility — work with all types of ballistic objects on one device
  • Easy to use – can be operated by an employee with no special training or expert qualification
  • Small size — as compared to counterparts made by other manufacturers
  • “Layer-by-layer” scanning with a capability to create a 3D-model of an object – high image quality of any area of any surface, including  distorted ones and those with a significant relief difference
  • Reduces time and effort at scannng cartridge cases owing to a semi-automatic dial-type holder specially designed for continuous scanning of up to 10 cartridge cases (supplied together with the scanner)
